Bluer Than Blue Singer Passes Away After Long Illness
Michael Johnson, the American pop country and folk singer-songwriter known for his mellow voice and thoughtful lyrics, passed away on Tuesday, July 25th, after a long illness, according to his website.
Johnson was born on August 8th, 1944, and launched his successful career in the Twin Cities in the 1970s. He relocated to the area several years ago.
One of his most famous songs, "Bluer Than Blue," was released in 1978 and was written by noted pop and country singer-songwriter Jim Photoglo.
Johnson was also an accomplished classical guitarist. His masterful songwriting and unique artistry will be deeply missed.
