Asher-Smith leads GB & NI quartet to 4x100m relay bronze at World Relays

Mills, Nelson and Lewis also part of team which finishes behind Jamaica and China

Dina Asher-Smith (pictured above, second left) has helped Great Britain & Northern Ireland to a bronze medal in the women's 4x100m relay at the IAAF World Relays in Yokohama.

Asher-Smith, who won 100m bronze at the 2019 World Championships, ran the third leg and helped GB & NI recover from a sluggish start on the opening leg from Hayley Mills.

Ashleigh Nelson ran the first leg before Mills took over and Asher-Smith then handed over to Annabelle Lewis for the anchor leg.

The quartet finished in a time of 43.05 seconds behind Jamaica (42.11) and China (42.81).

It is GB & NI's first medal in the women's 4x100m relay at the World Relays since 2015.

The bronze medal adds to Asher-Smith's impressive medal collection, which includes 1 x World Championships bronze medal, 3 x European Championships gold medals, 2 x European Indoor Championships gold medals and 1 x Commonwealth Games gold medal.
