WEB Basketball at the 1992 Summer Olympics was the thirteenth appearance of the sport of basketball as an official Olympic medal event. It included the first appearance of women's basketball as an Olympic sport. The men's tournament of basketball at the 1992 Olympics at Barcelona, Spain began on July 26 and ended on August 8. This was the first time that NBA players were allowed to compete in the Olympics, and the United States team, nicknamed the "Dream Team," featured some of the greatest players in the history of the sport, including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird. The Dream Team won the gold medal, defeating Croatia in the final.
