In an interview with MTV News, Nicholas Galitzine, who plays Timmy Andrews in the upcoming film Legacy, discussed how the film explores sexuality more deliberately than the original movie. Galitzine said that the film's director, Boaz Yakin, was very intentional about creating a film that was inclusive and representative of the LGBTQ+ community.
"I think it's really important to have films that represent all different kinds of people," Galitzine said. "I'm really proud of the work that Boaz did on this film, and I think it's going to be a really important film for a lot of people."
Legacy is a coming-of-age story that follows Lily (Joey King), a high school student who is struggling to come to terms with her sexuality. The film also stars Michelle Monaghan as Lily's mother, and Ed Harris as her father. Legacy is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 22.
